WHY DID I RUN FOR CITY COUNCIL?
My wife Leslie and I are raising our family in Rockwall. We love
this community and want to do our part to help the City
strengthen services, programs, and overall quality of life.

WHAT IS MY FOCUS?

• Avoid tax increases
• Strengthen essential City services
• Invest appropriately in City infrastructure
• Ensure a healthy and adequate water supply
• Expand retail / commercial / industrial tax base
• Protect property values
• Maximize use of every City tax dollar

Milder has fought to strengthen emergency services with continued investment in Rockwall Fire and Police personnel and equipment, with NO tax increase.

We have many great people working to keep our city safe. It’s important these great folks have the backup, manpower, resources, and systems in place they need to do their jobs safely.

Re Elect Scott MilderOther points of pride during Milder’s tenure on the Rockwall City Council include:

Discovering e-cig vapor shops were selling to minors and leading Council to prohibit those sales.
Leading Council to increase minimum square footage requirements for housing developers from 1800 SF to 2400 square feet to discourage low quality starter home builders.
Supporting investment in several new parks, including the barrier-free playground that allows wheelchair-bound residents to engage in play with their children.
Breathing new life into youth baseball/softball, more than doubling participation.
Rejecting apartment developments and low-income housing projects.
Advocating for the sale and redevelopment of the Harbor (great things to come in 2017!).
Persuading Council to increase street maintenance budget by 70 percent, no tax increase.
Initiating updates of local code to reduce compliance burdens on our small business community.

The Rockwall Professional Firefighters Association is proud to announce its endorsement for Kevin Fowler for Place 5, Rockwall City Council. Fowler has a long history of service to Rockwall, holding key leadership positions on numerous boards and commissions. He is presently a board member for the Rockwall Philharmonic Orchestra, is a member of the Rockwall Rotary Club, where he is the current Chair of the Rockwall Rotary Foundation, and the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce. Previous board activity includes Lone Star CASA, the Rockwall Youth Fair, the Rockwall Business Education Council, Building Better Roads Bond Committee and Boy Scout Troop 83. He is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Rockwall.

Fowler is Senior Vice President/Senior Commercial Lender at Northstar Bank and a long-time Rockwall County resident. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

Since serving on the Rockwall City Council, Fowler advocated for the recently adopted strategic plan and is a fiscal conservative that was part of a council that decreased the tax rate. “I love Rockwall and have a vested interest in our city. The City has strong leadership, both on staff and council, and I look forward to continuing our work to address the opportunities facing our city.

Bennie Daniels

A forty-year resident of Rockwall, Daniels is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Business Statistics. After graduation, he was employed by the U. S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census as an economic and demographic statistician. He transferred to the Dallas Regional Office in 1976 and settled his family in Rockwall. Leaving the Bureau of the Census in 1985, Daniels opened his insurance agency in Rockwall and operated that business until his retirement in 2006.

Daniels has consistently demonstrated his leadership abilities and desire to give back to his community by previously serving on the Rockwall City Council and in a variety of volunteer positions. He has been a member of the YMCA Board of Directors, serving as Vice-chair and Chair of the Sustaining Campaign; the Rockwall County Helping Hands Board of Directors, serving five years as Board Chairman; and was a founding member of the Rockwall Breakfast Rotary. An active member of First Baptist Church, Daniels and his family were one of six families sent in 1979 to begin a mission church which is now Lake Pointe Church. He is a graduate of the Rockwall Citizens Police Academy and a member of the Rockwall Police Citizens on Patrol (COP). He currently serves on his neighborhood homeowners association board as treasurer.

Daniels believes in small government and the protection of current citizens’ investment in Rockwall balanced with managed growth. He places a strong emphasis on the safety and well-being of our citizens by supporting our first responders’ needs, including their safety, adequate personnel staffing and equipment. He feels his work experiences and community involvement provides him with a wealth of knowledge and experience which uniquely qualifies him to be a thoughtful and productive member of the Rockwall City Council.
